Last summer me and my boyfriend went on a weekend camping trip to Orcas Island. It was our first time going camping alone and it was really quite nice. We started our trip in Surrey and then drove down across the border through Bellingham, all the way over to Anacortes, then we had to take the ferry over. Once we got to the Island it was just a matter of finding the campsite which we had a bit of trouble with at first because we were convinced we had already passed the turn off for it but eventually we came across it and found a nice little campsite which was fairly private. Or at least, as private as it gets considering there's not too many trees there. Then it was just a matter of finding a shop so we could get a bit of food since we couldn't take much with us across the border and it was actually kind of difficult, we had to go to two different places just to find hot dogs! But eventually we managed to get what we needed and I can't be sure but we either made lunch or had a nap it's all a bit fuzzy lol. Anyways, the rest of the first day was fairly uneventful and the next day we slept super late, had some breakfast and I think we went for a short drive around the island, and we ended up going for a short hike to the peak of the mountain at Moran State Park. The View was AMAZING and the forest was so lush and green. It was gorgeous and there was this one spot where there was a little pond and it had so many little newts (or salamanders, I don't really know which :S) so that was kind of neat to look at. Then at the top of the mountain is this skinny tower type building that was a fort at one point. So we had a snack at the top and then made our way back down and had a lovely little nap. I swear that's what about half of our trip was spent doing, napping! Anyways, that night we also went down to the water to see the stars, so we stood out on the dock and pointed out all the constellations that we knew of (and could find lol) and then it was off to bed for the night. Then we drove home the next day. Mostly it was just nice to be able to spend all that time together alone without parents or siblings or other people. We'll definitely have to go again. And that's my story!! The first pic is the one of the tower at the top of the mountain, the second is just a spot in the trees that I thought was pretty and the third is what we just assumed used to be a well at one point, other than that we couldn't really figure out what it was supposed to be! And no, we weren't holding the camera wrong, it's leaning :)

Orcas Island Relived
Here is my answer to the most recent Plinky prompt (http://www.plinky.com/prompts) which is to relive a vacation. So here it is!
