Grumpy, Grumpy, GRUMPY!

So as you can probably tell this entry is about the fact that I'm feeling particularly grumpy as of late. It started yesterday about mid day, for reasons I shall keep to myself, so then I fell asleep on my bed for about two hours and woke up and guess what...I was still grumpy. Damn. Normally a nap helps when I'm feeling bad but apparently not in this case. It is now the day after and I woke up feeling grumpy still, though now I really have no idea why...maybe it's just leftover from yesterday, who knows? Part of it I think has to do with me being stressed about school, mostly math actually, my other classes aren't so bad. However, I just found out that my two big written exams (I have one take home exam) are both at the very end of the exam period, one on the 26th and 27th of April. The reason that is a problem is because I'm wanting to fly out to ottawa as soon as I can to get to Curtis and get our fun summer started. Though of coruse I will be working as well! Also there's of course the whole trying to exercise more thing, which I've been trying to do, weekends are always the worst, they're the days when I generally have the most time and yet do the least, but at least I can do a bit during the week. Though this week we'll have to wait and see what happens because I took on some extra shifts and now have a bit less time. Speaking of work, it's been rather frustrating there as well. We've had ANOTHER cashier leave us without doing her two weeks and so the rest of us are stuck picking up the slack which is a curse and a blessing for me in one go. It's a curse because I'm lazy and don't really feel like working extra but it's a blessing because I really need the money because my three shifts a week aren't really providing me with the money that I need in order to save up for Ottawa. But at the same time that's my fault as well, I was rather liberal with using my Visa between paychecks this time around so I'm back to trying to not use it. So yes, that is my mini rant for now. I'll keep you posted as time goes by.

Cheers!

February Update

So much for writing more than once a month lol. Not that I really have anything all that exciting to tell in the first place but I'm trying to get back into practice for this summer when I'm living with Curtis in Ottawa. It's going to be so much fun. Apparently he is planning on taking me to Toronto and Montreal as well. I think he may want to go somehwere else as well but I have no idea. Either way I'm excited just for the first two places! I think it's going to really fun living away from home for a while. Plus I feel like this is a good step for our relationship because it's about time we got to spend some serious time together, plus at least this way we'll know if we can actually live together. I'm hoping we can. I think it will be difficult at first because we're not used to being around each other so much and I think that giving up my personal space is going to be really difficult!

School is going fairly well. I managed to get two B+'s last semester and a C in English. However I took that extra english exam and I managed to get a B- on it so I don't have to take any more English this semester. So I have Astronomy again, Math (which is awful!!) and Women's Studies. I'm not sure how Math and Women's Studies are going to go, but I'm really confident for Astronomy. I think I'm going to do really well in it! As long as I can get a B or B+ for Women's Studies then hopefully my two marks will help balance out the bad mark I'm likely to get for Math. I try to do well in Math but throughout my entire school experience, I have never once gotten a good mark in Math, I just don't understand it. I've never failed though so all I'm hoping for is a C+ because that is what the requirement for my program is. Speaking of the program, I applied for the fall!! So the way it works is that I'll potentially get an interview and then if I do well in the interview, they wait to get the final marks from April and then review it again and provided that I have everything needed and they like me then hopefully I will be offered a spot! But we'll have to wait and see because as it stands right now I don't actually have a high enough GPA to enter the program which is why my marks this term are really important. So I'm hoping to do well :S

Umm other than that there's not a whole lot new with me. I'm mostly just going to school and working. Though my family is going away to Manzanillo on Wednesday, but they have to spend Tuesday night on the mainland so that they can make their flight on Wednesday. So I'm a little nervous to spend time by myself. Mostly cuz the house makes weird noises lol. But I'll be having friends over for breakfast one day so that will be nice. Hahah maybe I'll have an old school slumber party, haha that would be tons of fun :) Hmmmm, it's not a bad idea actually! Also I've decided that I want to try and learn how to sew on a sewing machine because my goal is to make a super cute 50's looking summer dress :) So hopefully that will play out for me!

Alright well that's about all for now I'm thinking. I'm getting hungry! Time for breakfast :)

Cheers!

Romeo, Oh Romeo...

So last night I went to see Romeo and Juliette up at the university and it was soo great! Really long, and kind of hard to follow at times but they did an amazing job! The part where juliette was on her 'balcony' was cool, she was hanging from the ceiling and then people were pulling her in different directions to make it look like she was walking around on her balcony so that was really well done. I feel like they talked a wee bit fast though so sometimes it was hard to hear and understand what they were saying, especially when they were yelling but either way it was still an amazing play and I'm glad that I've finally seen it!

School is still going alright, just working away at it. I have to write a few papers and I'm not really sure what I'm going to do with those but I'm chipping away at it little by little. It's kind of difficult because of the topic but I'm going to make it work haha I don't really have a choice!!

Today I'm thinking about donating blood. I've always wanted to but I think there's actually a clinic being held up at the school today and tomorrow so I'm thinking I will actually go through with it and I'm excited for it because I will finally know my blood type! Anyways I suppose I should actually make the effort to go and get ready for school!

Cheers!

School Update

Well not a whole lot is new really just been working away on my studies, not that it's too hard really because I only have 3 classes. English is going fairly well I suppose, though I do need to keep working on that one, it's fairly easy though so I'm sure the exam will be fairly simple. I'm finding it really similar to grade 12 english almost so that's kind of nice, and with some luck I won't have to take more english next semester but I suppose we'll have to wait and see! Greek and Roman studies is good. I have to study harder for the quizzes though because the teacher for that class makes harder quizzes than the teacher for the last GRS course I took in first year. But now that I know I can work harder at it, though it would help if I had the book, I'm going to have to check with Chapters to see if it's in yet. Which I hope that it is!! I think having read the book will be helpful. Apart from that there's Astronomy which as far as I can tell is going fairly well, we just had a quiz and I think that I did really well on it, I studied pretty hard for it and I'm doing really well on the lab section so far! Sooooo as long as I can keep up really good marks in my classes I think things will be just fine. I'm hoping for at least a B in all my classes, an A would be better but i've always been more of a B average type student so I'm alright with that, it's still a good mark in my mind. Next year I will hopefully be in the education program so everyone keep your fingers crossed that I get good marks this year so that I can get accepted into the program. Not sure what I'll do otherwise! But I'll figure that out when it gets a little closer.

Anyways, that's all for this update!
Cheers!

General Update

Hey all! I haven't a clue if anyone bothers to even read this thing anymore since my life is definitely not as exciting post Europe, but I figure I'll try and keep it going for a while. Who knows, maybe there will be something exciting happening soon..though I doubt it!

Nothing TOO new really, my sister just got her first apartment and is moving out in a few weeks which is crazy, so she's out and about trying to find furniture and other bits and bobs that she'll need. So that will be good for her I think, so I hope it goes well. It will be nice that she's on her own, I think that will help her to appreciate everything that she may not have appreciated so much before!

School so far is going really well. I only have three classes I gave up on French the minute the teacher started giving the lesson in French...I haven't done French in like 3 years so I understood maybe 1/4 of what she said haha! So yea, that didn't last long, still have English, Greek and Roman Studies and of course Astronomy. I really hope that Astronomy goes well because I hate science and I need to get a science done for my program and I just really want it all to work out! I just had my first lab for that class and it was awesome, I learned a few new constellations and also got to see Jupiter and its moons through a telescope which was super cool because Jupiter has always been my favorite planet ! But yes, I wrote up my lab which was good, and I really hope I get a good mark, I tried really hard but I still feel like it wont be good enough, but I suppose I'll find out on Monday when I get it back, so everyone keep your fingers crossed for me, because I REALLY need to do well! Other than that though school is great, gotta try and get working some more very soon!

As for the working out thing...I could really do better, though the few times I have gone to the gym have seemed to make at least a slight difference! So thats always good, it will make it easier to keep going. My friend Yasmin has a bellydancing video she's going to let me have so that could be fun! But otherwise I just need to get my butt in gear and get going more often! I have plenty of time, just have to get myself to do it! So I will..somehow I will!

Anyways as far as I know that's about all I really had to say. I went to see Julie and Julia tonight and it was very adorable. Kind of makes me wish I had more of a purpose for my blogging, sadly I do not! Ah well, c'est la vie!

Cheers!

Shame on Me

Alright, I know it's been ages since I last blogged but to be honest since I've been home from Europe not a whole lot of exciting things have been happening, minus the whole Curtis moving to Ottawa (in 2 days by the way) thing. Though in addition to him moving to Ottawa, I have come to the conclusion that after I finish classes in spring I'm going to move out there with him for my summer off! How brilliant is that?! So I'm actually really excited for that. I think that it will be a good test run to see if we will be able to live together and be in each others space a lot more. I think that if we can manage that though, then we're set. I mean really, we've been together almost 4 years and right now thats the biggest hurdle we need to get over to see if we'll last lots longer (though I'm positive we will!) so it will be good!

Other than that, a lot of people that I work with are gone or leaving soon, all quitting which is lame! Ah well, such is life! But work is pretty good mostly, I still like my coworkers and we've got a few new people now so thats good!

My good friend Darcy is directing a play for the Victoria Fringe Festival and I'm really excited to hear how his opening night went! It's called Someone Who'll Watch Over Me, it's about 3 prisoners of war from very different backgrounds coming together through awful circumstances. At least that's what I think it's about! Either way I think it will be a really good play and I'm actually going to go and see it on Monday night so I'll get to see for myself :)

Last but not least school starts up VERY soon, and yet, not soon enough! I feel as though I've been waiting forever for it to get going but I don't start until the 9th so I've got a ways to go yet! Though I did actually go and get my student ID the other day and the picture is sooo much better than my old ones thank goodness, maybe because I actually TRIED to look decent in it! So I'm really excited to get that started, and I'm going back to school shopping on the 2nd with Yasmin!! Can't wait, we're going thrift store shopping and I'll probably grab a notebook or two whilst I'm out and then that way I don't have to bother with it later! :) Anyways, I think that's really all that I have to say for the time being!!

Cheers!

Back to It

Sadly all the fun is over now, I've been home a week and I'm back to work already which was interesting on the first day! Turns out I had forgotten all the produce codes completely (which was actually a very satisfying feeling...) but once I saw them again I managed to remember a vast majority...damn. But apart from work life is good, though I do seem to get tired very quickly still, maybe the jet lag hasn't completely worn off yet. Then again, I have been out and about a lot this past week so that could have something to do with it.

I've been out for two really good bike rides with Yasmin this week, once out to Mattick's Farm on the Galloping Goose and once out to the hospital also on the goose but in the opposite direction. I was meaning to go for a hike this morning but I decided that maybe I just needed a restful morning! But I'm rather happy with myself for being able to get right back into being active because I got pretty lazy toward the end of my trip haha! But this year is my year for getting really active and I'm actually excited for it! I'll be joining the swing dancing club at uni and also an intramural soccer team most likely and then I'll also have a gym pass for the school gym so that will be good! Lots of opportunity to get fit! Now if only sweets weren't so appetizing....

School this year should be good, I'm feeling really excited for it. Money is a bit of an issue at the moment but considering that I just got back from a crazy, month long, whirlwind trip, it seems logical that funds will be a bit tight..well more than a bit but I'll manage just fine for first semester. Second semester on the other hand, well, I'll deal with that when it comes along! For now I'm just focused on making things happen for first semester. And as pathetic as it may sound, I'm totally excited to go shopping for back to school stuff, I've always loved getting new pens and notebooks and things, how dorky eh? Ah well, and also this year I've decided to invest in a new backpack so hooray for that lol!!

Cheers!

7 Days and counting!

Well I've hit the 7 day mark now! I honestly felt like it would never come and now it has and I'm pretty much prepared now I think. Just have to do all my packing on Sunday and then it's just a matter of getting through the last little bit of work and making it to the airport where my lovely travel companion will be meeting me, at a jade statue of some kind in the food court of the international flight area. Apparently this statue is famous and yet...I've never actually heard of it, I can't even remember the name of it!

In other news however I think I've got all my school stuff set up. It's a bit of a pain because my registration date is when I'm on holiday so my parents have to try and get me all signed up for everything so me and my dad spent about two hours working on my time table so that they would know what to sign me up for and when. So hopefully everything works out alright! We'll see what happens I suppose :)

Cheers!
